"French and German leaders pay tribute to World War One fallen"

The French President Francois Hollande and his German counterpart Joachim Gauck led a commemorative event in Alsace marking 100 years since Germany declared war on France.  The event was held in Hartmannswillerkopf, also known as Vieil Armand by the French, where where an estimated 30,000 soldiers were killed during WW1.  Hollande and Gauck embraced when they visited the crypt at the site, which houses some 12,000 unidentified soldiers who died in the area.

In place of many shots, Valiant Hearts offers the player the opportunity of a great history lesson, through the course of five characters (four humans and a friendly dog). For them, the big win is not overcome the enemy battalion, but to stay alive throughout the four years of a war that killed 16 million people (and left another 20 million wounded), opposing brothers, cousins ​​and family. It is the case of the young and the old German Karl French farmer Emile, his father, two of the main characters of the plot, placed as rivals in the trenches.
